Individual or Couple Therapy
Found Bridge offers individual and relationship therapy in our offices in Glens Falls or via telehealth. We work with older adolescents, adults and couples or business partners.
Coaching
Coaching does not include diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders or illness.
Coaching is often more solution focused – focusing on the present and getting to where you want to be in the future.
Coaching is more flexible than therapy, and the format can be customized to client’s needs.
While Therapy is only offered in New York, our coaching clients can live anywhere and receive virtual services.
There is not a regulatory board that oversees the coaching industry the way there is for therapists. This means that it is very easy for people to call themselves coaches. While therapists are required to meet ethical standards and complete continuing education, the same is not true for coaches. There are a range of professionals who coach and it can be challenging to know who to choose. While some may have advanced training or certifications, this is not required. Because I am also a licensed therapist, clients can be sure that they are working with a trained professional.
Couple’s Intensive
The couple’s intensive consists of 1-3 days of psycho-education and therapy targeted to the issues the couple wants to focus on.
Couples will get 5 hours/day of private therapy (including a break for lunch) and materials to take home. This also includes a comprehensive relationship assessment based on a form that the couple will complete ahead of time. The information provided will be used by the therapist only for specific treatment planning to make each session as personalized and as efficient as possible.
Couple’s Workshop
This is a class based on the internationally acclaimed research of Dr. John Gottman as presented in his book, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work.
If a couple’s relationship is strong, this class will provide them with tools and insights to make their relationship even better. If a couple has a distressed relationship, this class can provide a road map for repair. In addition, I find that many clinicians and their spouses attend our class as a means of personally experiencing the Gottman Method and find it to be personally enriching and a great professional resource.
It is my mission to reach out to couples that they may benefit from the class’s research-based insights and tools.
If you or a couple you know is interested in registering or finding out additional information about the class, please fill out the form on the bottom of the page.
Bringing Baby Home
The Gottman Institute's research-based Bringing Baby Home workshops prepare couples for life with a baby and help them be the best parenting team possible. In a relaxed and supportive environment, parents learn to strengthen their relationship and foster their baby’s development. They build on what Dr. Gottman and colleagues found is the best predictor of marital adjustment after a new baby arrives: the quality of friendship in the marriage. When babies grow up in a home with a positive, playful parenting team, they feel safe and nurtured and available to learn. They cry less, they smile more, and their parents' cooperation helps them to pay better attention during play time so that they get more out of it.
Couples who have participated in the workshop:
Were more satisfied in their relationship and were more likely to stay together
Were better prepared to bring their baby home
Were more able to work together in family play and in co-parenting, with greater father involvement and more secure father-infant attachment
The workshop is best taken before or during pregnancy (preferably second trimester), but it can be taken anytime after baby is born. Pre-crawling babies are welcome.
